Self-Love Notes

Who doesn’t love a fresh stack of colorful sticky notes AND receiving a love note when you’re feeling lonely, frustrated, or worn down?

Self-compassion is truly foundational to our health, but many health providers don’t talk about it like that. We often tell ourselves unkind thoughts or hold harsh judgments against ourselves that do more to tear ourselves down when we’re already suffering.

Having unkind thoughts about ourselves is like being in a toxic relationship. It’s stressful and can set off stress-related hormones that mess with our digestion and energy.

One antidote to improve your health and sense of wellbeing is to write yourself love notes of encouragement and compassion. This can also keep you on track and moving in the right direction with your health goals. We need this now more than ever since our lives are altered during the pandemic.

I like to keep colorful self-love notes in a jar and add to it when I’m feeling really good and read one when I am feeling a need for some extra love. It's interesting to notice how words of love and acceptance make your body feel.

I encourage you to create a Self-Love Note Jar for your health as we start this New Year.
